Road to Recovery

Levi Gray is a Twelve Bridges Rhinos athlete, a son, a friend, and the big brother to several siblings who love and look up to him.

On the eve of Mother’s Day, Levi was out of state in Florida with friends and family. While waiting to be picked up, he was involved in a devastating accident and was run over by a motor vehicle. Levi sustained serious lower-leg injuries that required emergency surgery, including the placement of a metal rod. His recovery is still uncertain, and he may need additional surgeries in the future to repair soft-tissue damage and continue healing.

As soon as the family received the news, Levi’s mom, Jessica, flew to Florida Monday morning to be by his side. Jessica’s fiancé, Chris, has been part of Levi’s life for years and has helped raise Levi and his siblings. Together, Jessica and Chris are doing everything they can to support Levi, care for their family, and navigate the difficult road ahead.

At this time, there is no definitive timeline for when Levi will be able to return home. The family is facing not only the emotional weight of this traumatic accident, but also the financial burden that comes with emergency medical care, travel, time away from home, and ongoing recovery needs. Insurance issues are also creating added stress during an already overwhelming time.

Levi and his family have a long road ahead, and they should not have to walk it alone. Any support will help ease the burden on Jessica, Chris, and the family as they focus on Levi’s healing, his medical needs, and eventually bringing him home.
